Sarang Byrne was born in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California. She is also an alumni of New World School of the Arts High School in Miami where she says she was nourished into the artist she is today. She now resides in San Francisco, California.
“1993” is a painting based from a photograph taken of Sarang and her family in Japan in 1993. Sarang says “The expressive strokes allude to this landscape being a memory. The figures in the photograph are removed, my memory serves the landscape in this particular instance – not the people.”
